February 2018 Schedule of Events
2/5 Commander’s Call, Post 379, Bedford Commander, Adjutant, ALA
2/6 Post 60 Burger Night. I need the “crew” there to help
2/9 Chili Cook-Off night at the Lodge. 6-7:30. Bring your own Chili for judging.
Prizes awarded. Potato bar and dessert. $7.00 per person. Sign the guest book (Post 60).
Note that this is a Lodge event.
2/22 Monthly regular business meeting @ 7:00 PM
2/24 Elks Lodge “Open House”. In honor of the 150th anniversary of the Elks,
the Arlington Lodge will have a open house this date. All of the entities of the Lodge,
which are Does Drove 166, Boy Scout Troop 396, and the American Legion Post 60,
AL Riders, AL Auxiliary are invited to Participate.
We will set up a table(s) with literature to hand out to visitors.
The Lodge is hard at work getting the news out to the community.
We will need volunteers to man the tables.
ITEMS FORGOTTEN FROM THE COMMANDER’S BRIEFCASE
As you are aware, the Post finished a raffle for a Dallas Cowboy’s Ladies watch which was quite successful.
One of the reasons for this was that the watch was donated. The only expense was for the raffle tickets.
I was going to announce who donated the watch at our January business meeting, but I got my cue cards mixed up.
At this time, I would like to thank Mr. Bill Staton for his generous donation.
Bill has been a very involved member the past few years and He certainly has my sincere appreciations.
We were able to do (2) breakfast events in January. Our next scheduled breakfast will be in April.
My thanks to all of you that have helped out with the kitchen duties.

January closed with 246 members paid, 93.54% of our 2018 membership goal.
We have 331 members on our current roster.
If you have not renewed for the 2018 year please do so at you earliest opportunity.
We need only 17 to make our 100% goal. You can mail your renewal to American Legion Post 60

The ELKS Lodge #2114 has agreed to sponsor our post at their Lodge.
As a non-member of the ELKS, you will need to be signed in as a guest.
We will have a member of the ELKS there to sign you in.
On meeting nights, the last Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm, you can sign yourself in,
just enter your name and post 60. We hope that this will enable our post to grow and prosper.
