MESSAGE FROM THE COMMANDER

I would like to encourage you to renew your membership online at  www.legion.org/renew, it's easy, fast and secure.
it saves us both paper work and the price of a stamp.  John Straten will have the cards at the meetings 
if you prefer to renew then or you can mail them to the address on the renewal notice.  Have you considered 
being a Paid Up For Life (PUFL) Member?  Check it out and see if that works for you.

Please join me in welcoming our new and transfer members:  Clifford Harris 
Post 60 has a lot going on during the month of September.  We encourage you to help and if you cannot help, 
attend events and support fundraising.  It all goes to Veteran causes.  We take care of our own.

This Month
September 2   Breakfast with the Legion 
             (Eggs, Bacon Sausage, Pancakes, Potatoes, Biscuits, Gravy, Toast, 
              Coffee, Milk and Orange Juice).  
              You have to work hard to walk away hungry.  
              We can always use the help and if you can’t help, come and support the Post.
September 3   Drawing for the American Airlines 25,000 mile voucher at 1600.  
              Tickets are $15 each or 2 for $25.  Tickets can be purchased at the Sunday breakfast.
                 Another reason to attend.
September 4   Burger Night by Post 60 from 1800-2000.  We can always use the help so stop on by.
September 10 District 12 DEC meeting at Haltom City Post 655 at 1900.
September 11 Patriot Day, remember those that lost their lives with a moment of silence.
September 16 Breakfast with the Legion.
                 Air Force Birthday Celebration 1400 till ?.  Bring a side dish to share.  Meat dish will be provided.
                 American Legion Day; on this day in 1919 the American Legion was chartered by Congress.
September 21 National POW/MIA Recognition Day
September 27 American Legion Post 60/Auxiliary Meeting 1900-2000.
                 American Legion Riders after close of the Post meeting.
September 30 Breakfast with the Legion.
                 Gold Star Mother’s Day Observance.  For those who lost a son or daughter while serving in the Armed Forces.

Don’t forget to mark your calendar for the Second Annual ALR Car and Motorcycle Show on October 6 from 1000 to 1500.
From now through November, please start gathering NEW items for Operation Military Embrace.  
More information will be coming in the near future.  
This year, your support will go to wounded military and their families in the Waco area.  We take care of our own.

We are located at 601 W Pioneer Pkwy Arlington, TX 76010.  The ELKS Lodge #2114 has agreed to sponsor our post at their Lodge.  
As a non-member of the ELKS, you will need to be signed in as a guest.  We will have a member of the ELKS there to sign you in.  
On meeting nights, the last Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm, you can sign yourself in, just enter your name and Post 60.  
We hope that this will enable our post to grow and prosper.

August ended with 153 members paid, 53.31% of our 2019 membership goal.  
Our September goal is 55% and must be received in Austin by October 3rd.  
The next renewal notice will be October 10th.  
Till then you can use the notice you received in July.
