COMMANDER'S MESSAGE
I want to wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving and don't forget we're meeting on the 10th of November. Andre Hanekamp, Commander October finished with 304 members on our current roster, 169 members paid, 64.26% of our 2017 membership goal. We fell a little bit short of our 65% target goal for October. The Legion membership year is January 1st through December 31st each calendar year. A member is considered delinquent after January 1st of the next year if dues are not paid. With the Holidays approaching, please renew your membership now before they expire. I encourage you to renew your membership online at www.legion.org/renew, it saves us both paper work and the price of a stamp. Check out being a Paid Up For Life (PUFL) member and see if that works for you. Visit our website, regularly at http://www.americanlegionpost60texas.org. Join me in welcoming our new and transfer members: Larry Rundel, Braden Bergman, Alton Chaney, Steven Graham, Phillip Herr, Julius Miller, Ronald Nonnemacher, George Simpkins, Franz Vonrabenau. Our November meeting will be on the 10th, 1900 hours. There will not be a December meeting. If you wish, you can come to the District Christmas party Friday, Dec 16th at the Everman Post 639 1900 hours. As part of Post 60 obligation to the Elks for hosting our meetings at their house, we agreed to take over one of the burger nights, the third Tuesday of each month, in preparing and serving burgers for the members. We need your help in honoring this obligation to repay their hospitality. The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 60 has asked the Legionnaires support in increasing their membership. They want your eligible family members to join the unit. Applications are available at the Lodge. Also, female veterans can be dual members as well.Nov 5th Saturday 16th Annual Military Appreciation Dinner & Dance Nov 6th Sunday Marine Birthday @ the Lodge noon till 1700 Nov 10th Thursday Meeting ~ American Legion & Auxiliary 7:00 till 8:00 pm Nov 12th Saturday Meeting ~ Post 60 ALR noon till 1:00 pm Nov 15th Tuesday Burger Night by American Legion 6:00 till 8:00 pm Nov 20th Sunday Breakfast by American Legion Family 9:00 till 11:30 am Hope to see you at some or all these events.
