MESSAGE FROM THE COMMANDER
I want to wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving and don't forget we're meeting on the 14th of November. Mike Rogalsky, Commander October finished with 278 members on our current roster, 151 members paid, 59.22% of our 2020 membership goal. We fell a little bit short of our 65% target goal for October which is due in Austin the 13th of November. You know, if we were at 100%, we wouldn’t have to worry about these monthly target goals. With the Holidays approaching, please renew your membership now. Your membership helps us assist veterans and their families in need. It also enables us to promote other veterans’ programs. I encourage you to renew your membership online at www.legion.org/renew, it saves us both paper work and the price of a stamp. Check out being a Paid Up for Life (PUFL) member and see if that works for you. Visit our website, regularly at http://www.americanlegionpost60texas.org/index.htm Join me in welcoming our new member: John Barber. Our November meeting will be on the 14th, 1900 hours. There will not be a December meeting. As part of Post 60 obligation to the Elks for hosting our meetings at their house, we agreed to take over one of the burger nights, the first Tuesday of each month, in preparing and serving burgers for the members. We need your help in honoring this obligation to repay their hospitality. The American Legion Post 60 will be holding a High School Oratorical “A Constitutional Speech Contest” at the Lodge Saturday December 14th starting at 1000 hours. This is open to anyone wishing to attend. We will setup the room starting at 0900 hours. We also ask the judges and time keepers to come in at 0915 hours for a quick walk through of required documentation. I still need two time keepers. If you would like to participate, please let me know.Happenings
