I would like to encourage you to renew your membership online at www.legion.org/renew, it's easy, fast and secure;
it saves us both paper work and the price of a stamp. John Straten will have the cards at the meetings if you prefer
to renew then or you can mail them to the address on the renewal notice.
Have you considered being a Paid Up For Life (PUFL) Member? Check it out and see if that works for you.
Please join me in welcoming our new and transfer members: Gerald Roberts and returning Legionnaire Rodney Peregoy.
Post 60 has a lot going on during the month of September. We encourage you to help and if you cannot help,
attend events and support fundraising. It all goes to Veteran causes. We take care of our own.
September 2019 Post Events
September 1 Breakfast with the Legion (Eggs, Bacon Sausage, Pancakes, Potatoes, Biscuits, Gravy, Toast,
Coffee, Milk and Orange Juice).
September 2 Labor Day
September 3 Burger Night by Post 60 from 1800-2000. We can always use the help so stop on by.
September 9 District 12 DEC meeting at 1900 at Post 516.
September 15 Breakfast with the Legion
Air Force Birthday Celebration 1400 till 1800. Bring a side dish to share. Meat dish will be provided.
September 16 American Legion Day; on this day in 1919 the American Legion was chartered by Congress.
September 26 Monthly Post Meeting American Legion Post 60/Auxiliary Meeting 1900-2000.
American Legion Riders meet shortly after close of the Post meeting.

September 11 Patriot Day, remember those that lost their lives with a moment of silence.
September 18 Air Force Birthday
September 20 National POW/MIA Recognition Day
September 29 Gold Star Mother’s and Family’s Day Observance.

The ELKS Lodge #2114 has agreed to sponsor our post at their Lodge. As a non-member of the ELKS,
you will need to be signed in as a guest. We will have a member of the ELKS there to sign you in.
On meeting nights, the last Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm, you can sign yourself in,
just enter your name and Post 60.
We hope this will enable our post to grow and prosper.

ADJUTANT'S CORNER
August ended with 128 members paid, 50.20% of our 2020 membership goal of 255 members.
Our 50% Target Date must be received in Austin by September 11th,2019. Our next Target, 55%,
must be received in Austin by October 9th, 2019. We need 12 more renewals to meet that goal.
Currently I have one. Please keep the renewals coming. The next renewal notice will be October 7th.
Till then you can use the notice you received in July or if you need any help, please let me know.
